About

I am a political scientist, with research interests in urban security and policing, risk and surveillance studies, critical international relations, and critical security studies. Methodologically, my work combines fieldwork and ethnography with historical and archival work. In addition to international relations and political theory, I also draw from anthropology, criminology, sociology and cultural studies.

I hold a PhD in Political Science (with minors in Anthropology and Development Studies and Social Change) from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, in addition to an MA in Politics from the New School for Social Research, an MA in Defence and Strategic Studies from the University of Pune, and a BA in Political Science from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai. Between graduate degrees, I worked for public policy institutions in India and the United Kingdom.
